The standalone Robur Ammonia Heat pump had reached it’s 5 Year Pressure Relief Valve re-certification anniversary; BS EN 378 – Part 3. We thought, ‘What a great idea if we could fit a lock-off isolator in front of the PRV to facilitate it’s easy replacement next time, without the requirement to remove the Ammonia Solution from the system, just like we do with standard refrigeration systems’.
Our Technical Team at Orlando went back to the Robur factory in Italy for options to implement just that. Robur came back with an even better option, a self-sealing valve that seats when the PRV is removed; brilliant. The next 5-year program of PRV Re-certification on this machine will be cheap, quick and simple.
