CHILLER FLOW RECOMMISSION
We attended site for numerous Low Temp Chilled Water Trips on 3 Carrier Chillers of various capacities, all connected to a Low Loss Header with a Variable Secondary Chilled Water Flow; what did we find?
With some amazement we found O&M Manual actually on site; I know incredible. After initial investigations we found each chiller had its Primary Chilled Water Pump Inverter turned right down to ridiculous levels of flow. We connected our Flow Meter and recommissioned each inverter to deliver design Flow Rates on each chiller; still delivering great running cost savings. It smacked of an Energy Efficiency Consultant sticking his nose in and not understanding that a STABLE FLOW RATE within the Chiller Manufacturers Minimum and Maximum Evaporator Flow Limits will give Chiller Life Longevity over short term nuisance tripping pump running cost savings. Common Sense you would think! 😉.
