AIREDALE PLATE HX REPLACEMENT

After a successful similar project Plate Heat Exchanger, we had the knowledge to repeat the challenge.

Again, we carried out an Airedale Plate HX Replacement. We went to the Airedale who supplied a replacement Evaporator Plate Heat Exchanger with different dimensions and centre lines; they did warn a little re-engineering was required…… This time we were ready for it. This unit’s twist was Airedale used 3″ Victaulic Fittings and steel instead of copper for the Chilled Water Hydraulics like the last one. We re-engineered the suction line to suit, installed new EEV Valves using the existing drivers and new sight-glasses. A successful pressure test with and evacuation procedure saw a final Vacuum Rise Test indicating no leaks and no moisture present. The systems were recharged and recommissioned.
